I've got a
long long day...I'm so tired and my feet hurts. ^^ I've been in 3 cities with
discoverytours today.
In the
morning we visited Windsor. The Windsor castle is the largest continuously
occupied castle in the world. If the Royal flag is flying, the Queen's at home,
but of course she wasn't there, as we wanted to visit her, although it's her favourite
residential for the weekends.
We also took a walk over the River Thames to
historic Eton, home to Britain's most famous public school, where 18 former
British prime ministers once studied, beside the Royals Prince William and Prince
Harry. In the afternoon we’ve had a walking tour of Oxford, the oldest University City in England. The university is spread across the town centre among 39 separate colleges.
We visited Christ Church, the grandest and most popular of all its Colleges. The church was used for scenes in the Harry Potter films, and is home to the smallest cathedral in the country.
We paid about 5, 50 pound to have a look at Harry Potter’s dining room. Some people said that it doesn’t look like the real one, but I don’t care about it, because as the obviously only one, who isn’t interested in Harry Potter, I really don’t know how it exactly looks like. But I wouldn’t pay the entry again for walking around a table, where students eat two times a day.
Normally, I wouldn’t take part of an organised tour, because it’s more expensive than go there on my own… But after uncountable planning hours for all my next weekends, I want to make a break and its more confortable to go by bus and follow the group.
A few days ago, I booked a night bus to Paris. Spontaneous. :D
Tomorrow I’ll meet some Au pairs in Worthing and my host family will come back from their 10 days holidays. It was really nice to have the whole house on my own, but now I’ll have to work and get up early in the mornings… ^^
